Frustrations of a stay-at-home mom

Let me preface this entry by saying that I wouldn’t trade my job for the world. Truly. But every job has its ups and downs. I could just pretend that our days are flawless, our schedule like a science. But I would be deceiving myself. I have decided that it is healthy to vent; that I am a better mother if I don’t let my aggravation stay bottled up inside. B&B

As Jack approaches his first birthday, I am becoming blatantly aware of how much I have changed over the past year. Jack’s physical, mental and emotional growth seem exponential at this stage; I feel I have grown exponentially, as well. Along with personal growth and development comes the inevitable growing pains. I can honestly say that I would not have made it through this first year without the support of my B&B friends. [Read more →]

Revelations

Jack is coming up on his first birthday. I can’t believe it! I realize, reflecting back on the pre-Jack me, that I have learned so much about myself in these past 11+ months. [Read more →]

Mother’s Day

I have been looking forward to Mother’s Day for quite some time now. Last year, almost 8 months pregnant, I tried to include myself with the mothers. John kept telling me that it wasn’t my year yet. He did it in a joking manner…I’m sure he was terrified of sending his pregnant wife on a hormonal sob fest. [Read more →]

Photos From Our Trip

Hello everyone! I apologize for the delay in posting pictures from London and Paris. However, we took so many that it took some time to edit, delete, etc. There are a ton of them, even after careful review, so feel free to pick and choose the ones you want to view. The two links below are to the London and Paris photos, respectively. Enjoy!

Cheers to London

Today was our last full day in London. It was another beautiful day. The weather here really has been in our favor. Very chilly and windy but clear and sunny for the most part. After our coffee stop in Holland Park, we walked up through Notting Hill and then, on a whim, caught the train to the Borough Street Market. [Read more →]

Serafino

We decided to go to Harrod’s this morning. John wanted to see what all the hype was about and once inside he said “This place is like the Louvre….you could get lost and spend all day in here”. [Read more →]

We survived Paris!!!

Now that I have vented about our crappy day yesterday, I am over it and I will tell you what we actually accomplished yesterday…quite a bit. We began by going to Museum d’Orsay. It is located in what used to be a train station. [Read more →]

Le Louvre….C’est Magnifique!

We got up early today and walked to the Louvre. It is about 1 mile from our hotel. Not a bad walk but it was lightly raining the whole way there. We arrived at the perfect time. It had only been open for about 30 minutes and we think the rain scared some people away. [Read more →]
