Revelations
Jack is coming up on his first birthday. I can’t believe it! I realize, reflecting back on the pre-Jack me, that I have learned so much about myself in these past 11+ months.
- I can’t live without coffee. Seriously.
- I want to be a writer. Hence this blog. What is my niche? That I am still figuring out but I have found that I am quite passionate about writing.
- I really enjoy step aerobics. I used to knock it….but in my wild world, time is precious. The Step Sculpt class I attend weekly is the best workout I can get in a one-hour block. I leave dripping in sweat. Love.
- I have a DECENT singing voice. I find that when I am taking my time and singing to Jack, rather than rocking out in the car to some radio song, I can actually carry a tune. Who would have thunk? American Idol……here I come.
- I am funny. My audience may be an eleven month old baby….but I can make him laugh his ass off!
- My type A personality is slowly slipping away. When you realize what is important in life, only then can you chill out a little. Thanks to Jack, I am able to separate the essential from the trivial.
So I would like to take this moment to thank Jack for the eye-opening experience that has been his first year of life. Jack has allowed me the ability to see the world as he does: vivid, novel, brilliant. And because I am looking through fresh eyes, I am able to see something important from whole new perspective: me.
