Cheers to London

Today was our last full day in London. It was another beautiful day. The weather here really has been in our favor. Very chilly and windy but clear and sunny for the most part. After our coffee stop in Holland Park, we walked up through Notting Hill and then, on a whim, caught the train to the Borough Street Market. This market takes place Thursday - Saturday. It is a food lover’s dream! If you ever come to London you must visit this market! Anything and everything you would ever want in an open air street market. We had lunch and wandered through all of the stalls: dried fruits (we got the mangoes…delicious!), chocolate covered nuts/seeds/fruits, provencal herb sea salts, wild boar sausage, artisan breads, cheeses, sweets, seafood, veggie burgers, etc. etc. etc. The market was definitely a highlight of our trip here.

We then wandered around Oxford Circus for a while before making our way back to our ‘hood. Stopped in The Kensington for one last pint of London Pride. We decided to have an easy, early dinner at Byron - one last great burger. And now we are packing.

It seems like these three weeks have flown by but it simultaneously feels like we have been here forever. I think we fell into the groove so quickly here - all three of us - that we haven’t just been visiting London….we have been living in London. Jack truly loves this city and so do we. We know we will be back and that is what makes leaving bearable. Thanks to all of you who have been following our travels. It has been great to stay in touch with everyone while we’ve been here. And stay tuned….I plan to continue writing. About what? I guess you’ll just have to check in to find out! :)

Although, I can’t wait to see you, I sense you have mixed emotions
about leaving London. What a wonderful experience. Thanks for
keeping all of us so connected through your blog, and I am sure you will return to London in the future.
