British Karaoke

Today was officially John’s last day of work and then vacation it is! Jack and I rode the train to Oxford with Amy, Bruno and Isabel this morning. The Oxford area is a major shopping district. Shops, boutiques, restaurants everywhere. There were so many people out. It was really cold and rainy today. But that didn’t stop us. We all had rain gear so we just kept on going. After lunch, we walked to Piccadilly Circus, saw Trafalgar Square, walked past the Prime Minister’s residence and over to Big Ben. It had been several hours of walking so we hopped on the train at the Westminster station and headed home.

Once the guys got home we all headed up to Byron, the hamburger joint up the road. Had another great hamburger! Jack ate veggies and turkey….it was his first animal protein experience and he loved it! Jack passed out in the stroller the second we left the restaurant so we all walked up to the Crown and Sceptre for a pint. It was Karaoke night and it. was. hysterical. It was about 9pm and you could tell some of the people had been there since happy hour drinking. We heard the worst rendition ever of “Light My Fire” by the Doors. It was so ear piercing that Jack even woke up crying. So it was time to go….but we had a few good laughs. Tomorrow it is off to Westminster Abbey!
